The District 186 school board is discussing safety procedures after a student was killed near a school building last week. Parents and grandparents gathered at Monday’s school board meeting to express concerns over safety protocols during an executive session. The district has added more cameras in the past six months and has been adding more secure entrances at schools. A 15-year-old girl is charged with murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in the stabbing death of 18-year-old Pierre Scott Jr. near Lanphier High School.
