Springfield District 186 is moving forward with firing a teacher who has opted not to follow state and district COVID testing and vaccination mandates. The Board of Education voted unanimously yesterday to fire Franklin Middle School band teacher Kingsley Keys. State and district policies require teachers to prove they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or to get weekly testing. Keys elected to do neither and was dismissed.
