Harvested Deer Being Checked for COVID

While the USDA says more than 30% of the white-tailed deer population tested in several states including Illinois showed antibodies to COVID-19, the agency does say there is no indication people can contract COVID-19 by harvesting previously infected deer. The report says it’s unclear how deer are contracting COVID, but there doesn’t seem to be a connection to people getting COVID from infected deer.
