Higher Heating Bills Expected For Ameren Illinois, Nicor Gas Customers

Higher heating bills are expected this winter for Ameren Illinois and Nicor Gas customers.  The U.S. Energy Information Administration says inflation on natural gas and other fuels will lead to an increase in heating bills of as much as 54-percent.  Ameren Illinois and Nicor Gas are warning their customers of the hikes ahead of time, encouraging them to turn down the thermostat or face costly bills.  The director of communications for Ameren Illinois says this will be the most expensive season since 2008.
