Fire Prevention Week

This is national Fire Prevention Week and the campaign for 2021 is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety”. For example, a single chirp from a smoke alarm every 30 or 60 seconds means the battery is low and must be changed. Meanwhile a continuous set of 3 loud beeps means there is smoke or a fire and you should get out immediately and call 9-1-1. You’re also reminded that smoke alarms need to be replaced every 10 years.
