Pritzker Signs Latest District Maps

Despite a federal court case challenging revised legislative maps Democrat’s passed, Gov. J.B. Pritzker gave his approval Friday. Pritzker said the maps align with the Voting Rights Act and reflect the state’s diversity. However, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund opposed the maps in court saying it diminishes Latino representation despite a growing population. Republicans want the mapping process taken over by a bipartisan commission.
