In a release, the Decatur Police Department has made 4 arrests in the early Sunday morning shooting of two 17 year olds in Decatur. The release is as follows:
During the course of the investigation into this crime, probable cause was developed to arrest Quantarius S. Beasley, 20 and Drelyn M. O’Neal, 20, both of Decatur, for First Degree Murder. Arrest warrants were issued for both on the afternoon of 09/19/21. Beasley was located by the US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and Decatur Detectives in the 1800 block of N. Mon- roe just after 4 PM on 09/19/21 and is incarcerated in the Macon County Jail.
On 09/20/21, Decatur Police Detectives arrested Celeste B. Bowman, 19 of Oakley, and a 16- year-old female for First Degree Murder in reference to this incident. The 16-year-old will be detained at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center and Bowman is incarcerated in the Ma- con County Jail. An additional arrest warrant was issued for Bryan C. McGee, 21 for First De- gree Murder in reference to this incident. McGee is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
O’Neal was located at approx. 2:30 PM on 09/20/21 by the US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and Decatur Detectives at an apartment in the 1700 block of S. Country Club Rd. He will be incarcerated at the Macon County Jail.
At approximately 3:23 AM on 09/19/21, Decatur Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Walnut in reference to reports of gunshot victims. Responding officers located a 17-year-old male and 17-year-old female, both Decatur residents, in a parked vehicle. Both were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head. The victims were transported from the scene by ambulance and airlifted to Springfield hospitals. The female victim succumbed to her injuries. The male victim’s injuries are considered life-threatening.
Detectives responded and processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. According to witnesses, the suspect(s) were in a vehicle which drove past the victim vehicle, and someone in the suspect vehicle fired several shots at the victim vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
