The Secretary of State’s office says sports team license plates have raised over 13 million dollars for statewide public schools. Department spokesperson Beth Kaufman says some teams are more popular than others. She adds that over 71 thousand vehicles in Illinois have sport team plates, with 25 dollars from each purchase going to education. The most popular plates are the White Sox followed by the Chicago Blackhawks.
