September is National Preparedness Month. Rebecca Clark with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency says disaster can strike unexpectedly and it’s good to have emergency supplies ahead of time. She says that it’s important to put together a package of necessary essentials in the event of a disaster. The kit should have a flashlight, weather radio, blankets, batteries, a first aid kit, and water.
