Five Illinois county school districts are regrouping after facing court battles over quarantine policies. Districts in Adams, Clinton, Macoupin, Montgomery, and Sangamon counties have been taken to court by parents challenging the way schools decide when students are quarantined for COVID-19 exposure. Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District in Sangamon County says they have reached an agreement with the parents to modify their quarantine orders, but a judge has yet to issue a ruling in Friday’s case. Judges have ruled in the remaining cases that a quarantine order must be in place before a student can be excluded from school as an alleged public health risk.
