The Illinois Senate is rubber-stamping a huge energy bill. State Senator Sue Rezin supports the legislation that provides tax breaks for Exelon to keep the Dresden and Byron nuclear plants open. The measure also aims to have one-million electric cars on the road by 2030. It also shuts down several coal-fired power plants by 2030. Under the plan, energy customers will see a three-percent increase on their monthly bills. The measure now heads to the Illinois House.
