Hotel Industry Helped By State Fair

The Springfield Hotel and Lodging Association says the local industry was helped by this year’s state fair.  Hotel bookings for the state fair went up 20-percent over 2019, putting the businesses back to a pre-pandemic level.  Officials also say restaurants experienced an uptick in businesses.  The Illinois Department of Agriculture says they should have final fair attendance estimates in several weeks.
