GOP Governor Candidates Pushing Back Against Illinois Mask Mandates

Some Illinois GOP candidates for governor are pushing back against mask mandates issued by current Governor J.B. Pritzker.  Pritzker announced the mandate yesterday for Preschool through 12th-grade students and staff at all Illinois schools, as well as during indoor sports and at daycare centers.  State Senator Darren Bailey called the mandate an example of “tyrannical rule.”  Former Illinois Senator Paul Schimpf says Pritzker’s mandatory vaccination order for state workers is “inconsistent with civil liberties” and candidate Gary Rabine says the move is “about control, not about science.”
