New Street Sign Honoring Fallen Officer Oberheim Unveiled In Champaign

Champaign is honoring one of its own with a new honorary street sign.  The sign honoring fallen Champaign Police Officer Christopher Oberheim was unveiled yesterday.  A public ceremony was held to dedicate part of University Avenue as Honorary Christopher Oberheim Avenue.  Oberheim was killed and Officer Jeremy Creel was shot by a suspect while they were responding to a domestic disturbance in May.
