Former Superintendent Sentenced To Prison For Embezzlement

A former superintendent is facing nearly three years in federal prison for embezzling from two school districts.  Prosecutors says 48-year-old Daniel Brue created and registered a fake company to invoice Bement Community Unit School District Number Five and later the Meridian Community School District Number 15 between 2011 and 2019.  Brue was also ordered to pay just over 343-thousand dollars in restitution to the districts.  He is on bond while waiting to report to the Bureau of Prisons to serve his sentence.
