Delta Variant Detected In Central Illinois

Public health officials say the delta variant of COVID-19 has been detected in Central Illinois.  The Counties of Macon, Dewitt and Piatt, along with Effingham, Champaign, and Vermilion, have reported cases of the variant.  Officials are concerned because some of the affected counties have limited vaccination rates.  Health officials are encouraging all eligible people to get vaccinated.
