Federal funeral assistance is still available for families of COVID-19 victims. The program is administered by FEMA, which has provided nearly 18-million in aid to 25-hundred Illinois families in the last two months. FEMA region five spokesperson Dan Schulman says the agency is already considering another nine-thousand applications from Illinoisans, and that applications are still being accepted. Those applying can expect to hear back within three to five weeks.
