It seems the only people who like Illinois’ new, proposed political map are the Democratic lawmakers who drew it. Critics yesterday railed against the map. Advocacy groups like The League of Women Voters say the map is incomplete because lawmakers did not wait for more detailed Census data. Republicans say the map is political gerrymandering at its worst. Democratic lawmakers are rushing to approve the map, which sets boundaries for statehouse and Congressional districts, before the end of next month.
