Folks who owe on their power bills can now get more help from the state of Illinois. Governor JB Pritzker has signed an executive order that expands the state’s Energy Assistance Act. The governor is earmarking 80-million-dollars to pay past-due power bills. Anyone who qualifies for LIHEAP or other assistance can apply. The governor’s office says people can get between 250 and five-thousand-dollars to pay what they owe before their electricity is shut off.
