A Capitol Police investigator is facing charges following a deadly accident. Illinois State Police say 46-year-old Robert Hodson was driving north on Illinois Route 48 near Taylorville Township when he collided head-on with vehicle going south while trying to pass another vehicle. ISP say the 19-year-old driver of the other vehicle Haley Shoot and 20-year-old passenger Zaydin Dudra were pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old Indiana woman who was another passenger in Shoot’s vehicle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hodson was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After being initially cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, he is now charged with aggravated driving under the influence involving death.
