IDOT: Start Seeing Motorcycles

As the weather warms and more bikes hit the road, the Illinois Department of Transportation is urging everyone to think about motorcycle safety. For drivers that means giving motorcycles plenty of room and keeping an eye out for them in your blindspot. For riders, especially new ones, information about motorcycle courses and safety is available online at startseeingmotorcycles.org. IDOT says that while motorcycles are only on the roads part of the year, they account for 15 percent of all traffic fatalities.
