Report Dings Illinois VA Over Lack Of Infection Protocol

There’s another report that questions the management of Illinois’ state-run veterans homes. The report says Illinois’ VA does not have a standard set of rules for dealing with infections. In 2019, the state ordered the VA to come up with some rules because of the Legionnaires outbreak in Quincy back in 2015. But that never happened. The report says the lack of protocols played a role in nearly 80 coronavirus deaths at the veterans homes in LaSalle, Quincy, and Manteno.
