Political donors could soon be picking-up the cost of child care and elder care for Illinois politicians. A state Senate panel yesterday nearly unanimously approved a plan that will allow candidates to use campaign money to pay for someone to take care of their children or parents. Democratic Senator Melinda Bush says the idea came from women who said they would like to run, but couldn’t because they had children or elderly parents to care for.
