2020 was the second year for the new industry and farmers harvested nearly 24-hundred acres of hemp. That compares to a little over 28-hundred acres in 2019. State Department of Agriculture Division of Cannabis Manager David Lakeland says the COVID-19 outbreak didn’t help. Lakeland says the department is committed to helping hemp farmers succeed. Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 growing season.
