Mild temperatures and plentiful sunshine Tuesday did not translate in to a good turnout for Tuesday’s Primary Election for those competing for 3 open seats on the Decatur City Council in the April Election. Out of 48,025 eligible voters, there were just 3,315 total ballots cast, or just 6.9% voter turnout.
The top 6 from Tuesday’s Primary will move on to the April 6th Election. The list of the top 6 candidates is as follows:
David J. Horn: 1,499 votes, 16.53%
Ed Culp: 1,483 votes, 16.35%
Chuck Kuhle: 1,359 votes, 14.99%
Marty Watkins: 1,318 votes, 14.53%
Will Wetzel: 874 votes, 9.64%
