Illinois health officials say 526 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been wasted since vaccinations in the state began. The Illinois Department of Public Health cited broken vials or syringes, vaccine doses drawn but not administered, and open vials where no doses were given as reasons the doses had been discarded. Nearly two-million doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide so far.
