Man Arrested After Standoff with Decatur Authorities

Decatur police say a man is in custody after a four-hour stand off with authorities.  Police say officers responded to a call in the eleven-hundred-block of Illinois Circle yesterday afternoon regarding a man allegedly holding his girlfriend hostage inside a trailer.  When officers arrived, the woman was able to walk out, but 32-year-old Carl Hurd Junior remained inside.  A search warrant was obtained, and officers found Hurd holding weapons inside the home.  He was quickly arrested and faces several charges, including domestic battery and aggravated assault.  The girlfriend was not hurt.
