Dangerous cold and winter weather is delaying, even shutting down operations across the state Thursday. Temperatures across Central Illinois remain 20 to 25 degrees below the typical average temperature for this time of year. Wind chill factors will make the weekend feel much colder, with “feels-like” temperatures at 20 to 25 below zero. Meanwhile, the Illinois State Police are reminding drivers to take it slow and be careful on slick highways and other roads.
