Illinois Republicans Name Downstate Man as Chairman

The Illinois Republican Party is now being led by a downstate lawyer and businessman.  Don Tracy was elected Chairman Saturday and is the first leader of Illinois Republicans from downstate since 1988.  Tracy replaces Tim Schneider who announced his resignation in December.  He will serve out Schneider’s remaining term through 2022.
