Hunters harvested more than 162-thousand deer during the 2020-2021 season. Numbers are up by over six percent compared to last year, and archery deer hunting set another record. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be reviewing the trends. More than 76-thousand deer were taken during firearm season, with archery close behind at over 75-thousand. Illinois counties with the largest harvests include Pike, Fulton, Jefferson, Adams, Jackson and Williamson.
