A Sullivan High School teen is being called a hero after he acted to save a baby’s life. Sixteen-year-old Chase Eller says he was eating dinner with his girlfriend at a restaurant when a baby started choking. Eller jumped into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver on the child and saved the baby’s life. Eller says he learned the move in Coach Scott Bale’s health class at Sullivan High School. Bale says he has been teaching CPR training at the school since 2015 and is happy to know at least one of his students was listening. Eller says he learned how to respond to emergencies by watching his Dad, who is a police officer. His parents say they were shocked when they found out what had happened, but not surprised by their son’s response.
