Last Spring, members of the State Senate adopted a remote meeting rule, letting them hold 32 Zoom hearings over the summer and fall months. Senate President Don Harmon says this has been an unexpected positive to come out of the pandemic. The House meanwhile did not approve a similar rule so members were not able to meet virtually. A Bill letting both chambers act remotely during an emergency did not come up during this week’s lame duck session.
