In advance of Thursday’s Macon County Board meeting, the Macon County Board of Health, and the Decatur City Council held special meetings Monday to possibly lift restrictions on indoor dining. This Thursday, the Macon County Board is expected to consider proposals that could strip the Health Department of the ability to enforce the closures of bars and restaurants under the current state guidelines. The Health Department Board took no vote for the County Board to consider, while the City Council, at the end of a contentious meeting, chose to table the topic until next Tuesday after the County Board meeting.
