Illinois is showing a positive trend in the number of new COVID-19 cases in the state. Health officials announced over 62-hundred new cases of the virus Tuesday, along with 116 additional deaths. The state’s case positivity rate last week came in at nearly seven-and-a-half-percent. New cases continue to decline from a peak just before Thanksgiving, but are still more than double the highest levels reported in the spring.
