Hunters harvested more than 76 thousand deer during Illinois’ firearm hunting season. More than 47 thousand deer were taken during the first part of the season, and over 29 thousand this past weekend for a preliminary total of 76,579 deer harvested. That’s up about a thousand from last year. Illinois counties with the largest harvests this year include Randolph, Adams, Jackson, Jefferson and Pike.
