The Macon County Court Appointed Special Advocate program is searching for more volunteers. The program’s Executive Director, Julia Roundtree Livingston, says advocates walk alongside children and speak up for them in educational, personal, medical, and judicial settings. Macon County has 630 children in foster care, the second highest per capita of any Illinois county. Only about half have CASA advocates. Program leaders are also hoping more men can step in and make up for a lack of needed male volunteers.
