Illinois’ governor says it may be time for the state’s most powerful politician to step back. Governor JB Pritzker Friday said if House Speaker Mike Madigan will not answer questions about the federal investigation into ComEd that has now led to three indictments, then Madigan should step down as Speaker. The three indictments include one of Madigan’s most loyal allies. The governor didn’t say that he would ask Madigan to resign, or that he thinks Madigan should leave the legislature all together.
