House Speaker Mike Madigan is responding to the charges issued against several former ComEd executives and lobbyists. Madigan says in a written statement that he was unaware of any attempt to influence him in policy making. In July, the company admitted to arranging jobs, subcontracting work, and monetary payments related to those jobs in exchange for legislation favorable to ComEd. Madigan is looking to serve another term as Illinois House Speaker, but is losing Democratic support as more revelations come to light in the ComEd scandal.
