The Decatur City Council Monday night plans to consider a mask mandate for residents at their regular 5:30 meeting. Meanwhile, Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder plans to expand the city’s mask mandate to help fight the spread of COVID-19. Currently, the mandate requires that masks be worn in all retail establishments, but Langfelder plans to include all indoor spaces that welcome the public, such as law offices and non-retail businesses. Langfelder says he’ll have the city council consider it next week as an emergency passage item.
