Illinois Lawmakers Call for Hearings on the State’s COVID-19 Response

In a bipartisan virtual press conference, Senator Sue Rezin of Morris said there should be more transparency about why decisions are being made, and that legislators need to have a voice during the pandemic. Rezin and her colleague, Representative La Shawn Ford of Chicago are asking legislative leaders to set up the meetings. They say there are many concerns to discuss, including extra restrictions on bars and restaurants and the struggle between tenants who can’t afford to pay rent because of Covid and the landlords needing that income.
