Southern Illinois is the latest region to be placed under stricter COVID-19 Safety Measures. Region Five will go under new mitigations starting Thursday, including no indoor dining or bar service, and gatherings limited to 25 people. Governor JB Pritzker says the Southern Illinois area has a positivity rate of nine-point-two percent and increased hospitalizations. He warns more areas could soon follow. Regions seven and eight include Will, Kankakee and Kane counties. Region one, the Rockford area is already under tougher rules.
