A lot more people in Illinois want to vote absentee this year. The Illinois State Board of Elections yesterday said absentee ballot applications are eight times higher than they were at this time in 2016. So far, just over two-million people in the state have asked for an absentee ballot. The State Board says voters have until October 29th to request an absentee ballot, but a spokesman says they are asking people to make that request this week to avoid any late or missing absentee ballots on Election Day.
