Fire Prevention Week is Under Way

It’s Fire Prevention week, and this year’s campaign is focusing on kitchen fires. 44 percent of home fires start in the kitchen according to National Fire Prevention Association figures. That’s why you should never leave food unattended and teach kids to stay at least three feet away from the stove according to Illinois Fire Marshal Spokesperson JC Fultz. He also recommends always keeping a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.
