Commerce Commission Says Talk to Your Utility for Further Payment Assistance

If you’re having trouble paying your home energy bills, the Illinois Commerce Commission recommends discussing the situation with your utility company. While assistance programs are available, you may not realize that just reaching out to your utility can help according to ICC Chairman Carrie Zalewski. Companies like Ameren Illinois, Peoples Gas, Com Ed and Aqua Illinois are extending the moratorium on disconnections for low income resident through the end of the winter. Nicor Gas and Liberty Utilities won’t disconnect any customers through March 31^st.
