GOP Lawmakers Debate with Governor Pritzker Over Planned Graduated Income Tax Structure

The debate over the proposed graduated income tax is heating up in Illinois.  Republicans argue the new tax structure will hurt small businesses and doesn’t help solve the state’s spending issues, but Governor Pritzker believes otherwise.  The governor added that taxing people based on what they earn is fairer, and it will bring in more revenue for the state.  Voters will be asked to approve the change on the November ballot.
