Governor J.B. Pritzker says some groups are going to get a second chance at obtaining cannabis dispensary licenses to sell legalized recreational marijuana. Pritzker says fairness must be shown in keeping with the social equity portion of the state’s law aimed at bringing more diversity into the industry. Many felt the initial cannabis lottery wasn’t fair because only 21 groups came away with 75 licenses. Social equity applicants that didn’t receive a perfect score during the first process are being given feedback and an opportunity to resubmit applications.
