Illinois House Republicans are calling for public hearings on the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Representatives Tom Bennett, Dan Caulkins, and Mike Murphy joined together in asking for more public input on the department. The Reps say their offices receive hundreds of calls and emails each week from people who are trying to get unemployment issues resolved. Murphy says IDES Director Kristin Richards needs to answer for inadequacies in the unemployment claims process, fraud allegations, and what is being done to fix the issues.
