Illinois Makes Assaulting Retail Employees For Enforcing COVID-19 Guidelines Felony

Assaulting a retail employee for enforcing COVID-19 guidelines is now a felony in Illinois.  The change was made after Governor J.B. Pritzker enacted emergency rules Tuesday.  People charged with the new felony could face five years in jail and a fine of up to 25-thousand dollars.
