The State is launching the new emergency rental assistance program to help those struggling to pay their rent during the pandemic. The Governor announced there is 150-million-dollars available for people who need help and the money will be distributed in five-thousand-dollar grants. The idea is to help 30-thousand people, but advocates say there are hundreds of thousands of people across Illinois who need help paying their rent.
