At a press conference Monday, the Macon County Health Department announced since Friday, 62 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. During the press conference, Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe urged people to take the recent uptick in numbers more seriously. To that end, she said she will be issuing an emergency order this week that will give the city the power to shut down any business not abiding by the regulations outlined in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan.
Phase 4 guidelines include:
Wearing a mask when indoors or in groups where social distancing is not possible.
All gatherings of 50 people or fewer are allowed with this limit subject to change based on latest data & guidance.
Manufacturing: All manufacturing open with IDPH approved safety guidance
“Non-essential” businesses: All employees return to work with IDPH approved safety guidance; Employers are encouraged to provide accommodations for COVID-19-vulnerable employees
Bars and restaurants: Open with capacity limits and IDPH approved safety guidance
Personal care services and health clubs: All barbershops, salons, spas and health and fitness clubs open with capacity limits and IDPH approved safety guidance
Entertainment: Cinema and theaters open with capacity limits and IDPH approved safety guidance
Retail: Open with capacity limits and IDPH approved safety guidance
